The debut EP recorded at the insistence of Candle Records label boss Chris Crouch. He urged Darren to release the few songs he’d written while playing lead guitar in various other bands. It was put to tape by Machine Translations J Walker in his shed perched on the cliffs of Scarborough, south of Sydney.
A last minute edition, the improbable banjo ballad ‘Falling Aeroplanes’, was picked up and given heavy airplay by the national radio network Triple J and would help launch Darren's career as a solo artist.
